DxWnd Game Guides

Per-game settings and fixes for running classic PC games in a window — every guide on this page is built from the DxWnd project’s own forum, where the developer and community testers document what actually works, game by game.

How these guides work

DxWnd has no magic per-game database — it has twenty years of accumulated, per-game knowledge in its SourceForge discussion forum. Each guide below traces to specific threads there: the settings the developer ghotik published, the profiles he and the testers shared, and the problems they openly admit are still open. Where a game is only partly fixed, the guide says so. If your game is not listed, start with the generic workflow in how to use DxWnd and the troubleshooting hub — most titles need nothing more.

Profiles make most of this one-click

Several guides above end with “import the profile” — a .dxw file carries a game’s whole DxWnd configuration, so one player’s solved setup becomes everyone’s starting point. How DxWnd profiles work explains creating, exporting, importing and hand-editing profiles, including how to fix the install path stored inside someone else’s .dxw.
